Boston has been great to me though. One more semester left//I’m excited about what the future holds.
Blogging always seems to calm me..& i’m need of some emotional relaxation right now. It’s been an interesting semester & it’s ending just as interesting as it began. Remember kiddies INTERESTING can have a variety of connotations. In this situation it’s quite neutral.
After a long hiatus I’ve decided to revive this blog. I am currently in Boston with no concrete plans of where I will travel to next but Boston is such a dynamic city in itself that I’d like to share any new and exciting things I come across. I’d also like to use this tumblr as an inspiration outlet for any future/potential travel plans for myself and others . Most of all I really just miss writing and expressing myself from a creative/spontaneous standpoint. I haven’t had a chance to do that since I stopped blogging here upon leaving Spain. AND IT JUST FEELS SOO GOOD even if no one is reading or listening. So there..stay tuned!
I found before & after webcam pics! loll

Ya Esta!
So here I am sitting in my room in disbelief. After 4 long interesting and amazing months I am finally heading back home. I should have updated at least a week ago to talk about how I felt about this study abroad experience but I didn’t lol So I thought the least I could do is make one last update from Spain!
A friend of mine asked me if which time did I enjoy more, my first study abroad in Spain or this time. My reply was that it was impossible to choose between the two because they were both very distinct and I loved each time in their very own special kind of way.
I could not have answered that question better. Life changes and it’s impossible to compare the two given the circumstances of my life during each time. I couldn’t even begin to list those differences! I think what is most important to note is that I grew as a person each time and I’d like to think that it was always for the good :)
Pues nada, Ya esta!! (There it is/it’s over!) This has been a great experience. I have formed strong friendships that I hope will last forever, discovered new things about myself…and most importantly I have developed a love and appreciation for good wine (& there is still room to grow there). Now I am off to reunite with the people who’ve loved me now, during, and before this experience. My heart literally starts to beat faster when I think about all of the hugs I’ll be getting within the next week!! I’ll miss you Spain & I will def. be back (but next time I plan on leaving out the study part). BTW guys I plan on turning this blog in to a general travel and new/ interesting experiences diary for myself so this isn’t the last you’ll see of me. HASTA LUEGO!!
XOXO
JAZ
K. I think I’m totally past due for a Madrid update. This month has been a little loco & all over the place. I have 2 whole weeks away from class & during the second week I was in Italy. I could not even describe to you how difficult it was to get back in the swing of things. & to top it all of I had 2 huge papers due right after Spring break. Last week has hell week but I’m not complaining because it was the only difficult week I’ve had all semester. I’d be an entirely different story if I was on campus!
Anyways, the countdown to home has begun. I only have 18 days left here! I can’t believe it. Spain has been good to me but I can definitely say that once it’s time to go I’ll be ready. I can’t wait to feel the tight embraces of my loved ones. That’s what I’ve missed most. It’s still not the end though! I’m gonna take advantage of every moment I have left here b.c idk when I’ll ever be back! I’ll take as many pictures as I can in the mean time ;) .
My most recent trip happened last Friday. It was a program trip to Segovia. I had already been here before when I came the first time but just like Toledo, it was definitely a different experience. The weather was not as nice as before but it definitely was an advantage. Last time I went it was the summer time so many of the different aspects of the landscape weren’t noticeable. For example, it was pretty cold on Friday so I was able to notice the beautiful snow capped mountains in the distance. The beautiful views made bearing the cold weather all worth it.
The monuments such as the ancient 2000 year old Roman aqueduct was just as amazing to see at it was the first time. The castle was also nice to visit again. Before, my Spanish was not as good as it is now so I probably learned more about Segovia’s history this time than I did last time. I was also in good company & that is always nice :)
Naples & Pompeii
So my other trip within a trip during Spring break was to Naples & Pompeii. We didn’t spend much time exploring Naples because the reason why we went was so we could do a day trip to Pompeii.
Pompeii
For those of you who don’t know the story of Pompeii, it is quite remarkable. During the year 79, the nearby Mount Vesuvius erupted and covered Pompeii in 12-30 feet of volcanic ash. The volcanic ash stopped this small ancient city in it’s tracks and preserved the entire city (people and all) in the exact moment that was taking place when it erupted. It was not rediscovered until 1700 years later. Amazing right? I remember writing a paper about Pompeii in 8th grade & I never thought I’d actually go there. Pompeii is only a half an hour train ride outside of Naples and it was totally worth the trip. It was a great experience. It was like taking a step back into the past.
We only planned to stay in Naples for a day to see Pompeii before returning to Rome. Lucky for us, the hostel we were staying at was very close to a famous Pizzeria called Michele’s. It was where Julia Roberts ate pizza in the movie Eat, Pray, Love. I’ve never seen the movie but I figured that if this place was in a movie it HAS to be good lol. We were fortunate enough to eat dinner there & mannnn was it delish :D
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL THING IN THE WORLD.
Ok yes I know. I’ve been neglecting this blog. My last post was over a month ago. I have no excuse all I can do is ask that you forgive me baby lol. Last time I posted I said how I was going to Italy and Naples for Spring Break. Well I did it. & I almost overdosed on gelato in the process.
Rome:
Rome is an amazing almost incomprehensible city. When we arrived into the city after the 40 minute ride from the airport I couldn’t believe I was there. It was nothing like I expected but then again…i’m not exactly sure what I expected.
As we where only going to be in Rome for two full days before heading to Naples, we did the most touristy things we could do within those two days.
We visited the Spanish Steps, La Fontana di Trevi, The Pantheon, The Colosseum, and the Vatican.
By farrrr my favorite place was La Fontana di Trevi. I feel like it’s so cliche because it’s in pretty every movie that takes place in Rome but it was truly amazing and one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen in my life. I could have stared at it all day. I’m not exaggerating lol the picture I took does not do it justice… & YES I THREW A COIN IN & MADE A WISH!!
